
BIOGRAPHY
Born in Detroit, Sherwin Wine graduated from the University of Michigan with degrees in philosophy and political science. Ordained as a rabbi in 1950, he went on to found a new movement in Judaism called Humanistic Judaism. This movement has become an international movement with many congregations all over the world.
Achieving fame as a lecturer on all dimensions of the human experience, he founded the Center for New Thinking in suburban Detroit in 1970, which serves as an educational institute and a public forum for the presentation of new ideas in the arts, sciences, philosophy, politics, religion and history.
Sherwin Wine is the author is Staying Sane in a Crazy World, which was published in 1996.
